The State National Security Committee in Bishkek detained a human rights activist who extorted $50,000
In Bishkek, employees of the State National Security Committee (GKNB) detained a human rights activist suspected of extorting a significant sum of money — $50,000, for assistance in resolving a criminal case. This information was provided by the press center of the agency.

According to the GKNB, the detainee, known as N.D.M., acted on behalf of the victim under a power of attorney. She guaranteed the release of one of the defendants in the criminal case, referring to certain agreements with representatives of the investigative service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Upon receiving part of the sum — $20,000, the human rights activist was caught in the act. After interrogation, she was placed in institution No. 23 of the State Penitentiary Service.

Additionally, the GKNB reported the initiation of an investigation to check the possible involvement of employees of the investigative service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in this incident.
