Two new tram routes are expected to open in Bishkek. The deputy chief architect of the city, Aziret Azimov, shared this information on the air of Birinchi radio.
According to him, the new tram lines will connect the new residential areas of the capital, starting from the 'Azattyk Arena' stadium and ending in the central part of the city. The routes will circle the center and run along the streets of Jibek Jolu, Shabdan Batyra, Fuchik, and Akhunbaev.
“As part of the first phase, it is planned to build about 30 kilometers of tram tracks,” he noted.
Azimov also pointed out that it is currently impossible to determine the exact date for the start of construction work, as they will be included in the new general plan, which has not yet received approval. The general plan is expected to be presented for public discussion at the end of December this year.
