The Ministry of Energy has signed an investment agreement with Chinese companies for the construction of the "Ak-Turpakh" solar power plant.

At the international forum in Suzhou, located in the People's Republic of China, an Investment Agreement was signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Chinese companies States Technology Co., Limited and San Energy Co. This agreement concerns the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 250 MW in Kyrgyzstan.

The document was signed by the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Talaybek Ibraev, the president of States Technology Co., Limited, Liu Fernando Oscar (investor), and the general director of San Energy Co., Liu Yungjie (contractor).

The solar power plant is planned to be built on an area of 669.3 hectares in the village of Ak-Turpak, located in the Batken region. Construction work is set to begin in 2025, with project completion scheduled for 2027.

Additionally, under the leadership of Talaybek Ibraev, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Chinese company POWER CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION OF CHINA (POWERCHINA). The parties were represented by the general director of the National Electric Networks of Kyrgyzstan, Ilgiz Sydygaliev, and the general director of the Directorate of Constructed Power Plants, Ravshanbek Kasymov.

The main objective of the memorandum is to attract international investors and financial institutions to finance projects, deepen cooperation, and jointly implement new initiatives. The document also provides for conducting research and developing plans for the energy system's development on a grant basis, training specialists in energy management and engineering, as well as exploring the possibilities of creating floating solar power plants on the Toktogul reservoir.
