For the first time, senators are introducing an official definition for the term "artificial intelligence" and establishing principles for its use. The new rules require companies to consider the protection of personal data and the transparency of algorithms when developing IT systems and services.
Fines for violations will range from 50 to 100 basic calculated amounts, and there may also be detention for up to 15 days and confiscation of equipment.
Additionally, content created using neural networks must be marked with a special label. It is important to note that decisions that may affect the rights of citizens cannot be made solely based on AI algorithms — human involvement is mandatory.
Senators emphasize that these changes are necessary for the safe implementation of technologies and to enhance the protection of personal data. The bill will be sent to the president for signature.
