The State Agency for Public Service and Local Self-Government has expressed its opinion on the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the "Approval of the Procedure for the Operation of Crematoria on the Territory of the Kyrgyz Republic."

In the agency, it was noted that every citizen has the right to burial in accordance with their traditions and beliefs. The funeral process must take into account moral and ethical norms, as well as religious and cultural customs that comply with generally accepted standards.

Furthermore, the agency emphasized that the draft resolution does not make cremation mandatory for all citizens. "The purpose of the document is to create legal and sanitary conditions for those who independently choose cremation," they added.

It is important to note that cremation will only be permitted with the written consent of the closest relatives or the person responsible for the burial. Until such consent is obtained, cremation cannot be carried out.
