The draft resolution "On the Approval of the Procedure for the Operation of Crematoria in the Territory of the Kyrgyz Republic" has been prepared by the State Agency for State Service and Local Self-Government and has already been submitted for public discussion.

Currently, there is no document in Kyrgyzstan that clearly regulates the operation of crematoria, including the procedure for providing cremation services, handling ashes, and the conditions for storing and burying urns.

According to officials, the existence of such a resolution is extremely important for forming a modern approach to funeral services that takes into account sanitary, environmental, and social aspects. This project is being developed in accordance with the Law "On Burial and Funeral Affairs," as well as sanitary and epidemiological norms and regulations.

The proposed document contains provisions regarding the operation of crematoria, including the acceptance and processing of bodies for cremation, the organization of the cremation procedure itself—both planned and urgent—and the issuance of urns with ashes.

Additionally, it provides for the use of environmentally friendly coffins made from materials that completely burn, such as cardboard, bamboo, and vine. This will help preserve forest resources and make cremation services more accessible.
