The Deputy Chairman of the National Bank, Bektur Aliyev, announced at a press conference in Bishkek on October 30 that the introduction of a self-ban mechanism on loans is aimed at protecting the rights and financial independence of citizens.

He noted that there has been an increase in cases of online fraud in the country. "The National Bank receives numerous complaints about the illegal provision of online loans by banks and financial organizations," Aliyev stated.

According to him, the presence of a self-ban mechanism will prevent fraudsters from using citizens' personal data obtained illegally. "In this case, no bank or financial organization will be able to issue a loan," he clarified.

Moreover, this mechanism will allow citizens to control their credit profile and set a "digital lock" on their name at any time. It will also create conditions for thoughtful decision-making regarding lending issues.

It should be noted that the self-ban on loans can be established starting November 1 through the "Tündük" application.
