In Kyrgyzstan, a new national mechanism has been implemented for the early warning of the emergence of new drugs and psychoactive substances. This was announced on October 28 at a press conference by the Drug Control Service.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the relevant resolution on July 31, 2025 (No. 460).
Timur Isakov, the chairman of the Commission on Drugs and Drug Addiction, emphasized that this mechanism will provide the state with the ability to quickly identify and assess the risks of new dangerous substances appearing before they begin to spread widely.

The system consists of two main components:

- A Republican Monitoring Center, which operates under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and analyzes data received from various agencies, laboratories, and research institutions.
- The Commission on Drugs and Drug Addiction, which includes representatives from 21 state bodies, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Justice, State National Security Committee, State Customs Service, and the Prosecutor General's Office.

The main goal of this mechanism is to prevent the spread of new synthetic drugs, control medications that may be misused, and increase public awareness.

According to the Drug Control Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the launch of this system will strengthen Kyrgyzstan's capacity in the field of security and public health, as well as allow the state to act proactively in protecting the population from new generation drug threats.
