On October 23, a meeting of the Commission took place in the Supreme Court, which is engaged in analyzing and optimizing the structure of the judicial system and the number of judges. The chairperson of the commission is Aida Seidakmatova, who holds the position of chair of the Council of Judges and is a judge of the Supreme Court.

According to the press service of the Supreme Court, the establishment of this commission was the result of a decision made by the Council of Judges on October 17. This event is related to the implementation of a law amending the constitutional law "On the Supreme Court and Local Courts of the Kyrgyz Republic," which was signed by President Sadyr Japarov on October 9.

The main task of the commission is to develop recommendations for optimizing the structure of the courts and more effectively distributing the workload among judges. Judicial statistics show that the number of cases considered by the Supreme Court has increased from 4,500 in 2010 to 7,800 in 2024, while the number of judges has remained unchanged since 2003 — 35 people.

In addition, the commission emphasized the importance of increasing the number of judges in the newly consolidated administrative-territorial units, where there is a growing workload due to population increase. Following the meeting, proposals will be prepared, which will later be submitted for the president's consideration.
