The lawyer for the convicted, Aibek Turduev, expressed surprise at the court's decision. He noted that the ruling contradicts the principles of legality and justice.
Turduev pointed out that there is no evidence in the case materials that Karamushkina could have held people as hostages. "There are numerous testimonies, including from the injured special forces and other witnesses, who confirmed that she acted in their defense and tried to help them escape from a dangerous situation," the lawyer added.
He also emphasized that according to the law, at least two pieces of evidence are required to establish guilt, and in this case, not a single one has been presented that confirms Karamushkina's guilt.
Natalia Karotich, the mother of the convicted, expressed bewilderment at the severity of the sentence.
