In his speech, Hasan emphasized that the issues of violations of humanitarian norms remain extremely relevant on a global level. He noted that in the context of armed conflicts, climate change, and mass migration, all states and parliaments bear the responsibility for protecting the most vulnerable segments of the population, as reported by the TurkPA press service.
The Secretary General highlighted the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation in promoting humanitarian commitments, pointing out that the current global situation requires coordinated actions to ensure compliance with humanitarian norms and support initiatives in this area.
"Joint efforts are the only way to turn humanitarian commitments into concrete actions," he added.
Hasan also expressed TurkPA's intention to deepen cooperation with the IPU and other international parliamentary platforms to develop dialogue and formulate coordinated approaches to global humanitarian challenges.
The Secretary General reminded that TurkPA has been functioning as an observer in the Inter-Parliamentary Union since 2011 and places great importance on strengthening constructive interaction with other regional and international parliamentary organizations.
