The summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States was a demonstration of the unity of the community of related peoples, said A. Atambayev.
The head of state noted that the significance of the summit is growing every year. “At the summit held in Bishkek, there were 3 presidents participating, at the summit in Gabala there were 4 presidents, and today there are already five. I am glad that the foundation of the Turkic-speaking States Council is strengthening every year. We have created an Academy, a Fund for Turkic Heritage. We plan to hold nomadic games. Agreements in several other sectors are also being considered,” he said.
“I believe that focusing on solving 2-3 main problems will strengthen our cooperation and serve as a catalyst for the effective work of our governments. By adopting the Bodrum Declaration today, we have set the direction for creating conditions for beneficial and constructive cooperation. We fully support the initiatives of the secretariat adopted at this summit. The Kyrgyz Republic is interested and ready for internal cooperation in all areas for economic and cultural development,” added A. Atambayev.
He further stated that tourism will help deepen cooperation between states and strengthen ties in the fields of transport, sales, and culture. According to him, all member states of the Council have created the best conditions for the development of tourism.
“The nature of our states is very beautiful, the air is clean. There are mountains, forests, waters, and lakes. Kyrgyzstan has numerous natural and recreational resources, as well as national, cultural, and historical heritage sites. Kyrgyzstan is rich in historical and cultural monuments. They are located along the Great Silk Road. Citizens of over 50 countries can enter Kyrgyzstan without a visa or through a simplified visa regime. According to preliminary data from the World Tourism Organization, if Kyrgyzstan can develop its tourism sector to the proper level, it could receive 2.5 million tourists per year,” he said.
A. Atambayev emphasized that “the example of our brotherly Turkey in this area is a good example for the Kyrgyz Republic.
“Learning from Turkey's experience, its effective application, and the development of the tourism sector in all countries can only be achieved through regional partnership. To exchange experiences, we propose to hold annual Turkish tourism exhibitions. During the exhibitions, we can exchange experiences, showcase the best achievements of the tourism sector, and establish contracts. As one of the venues for such exhibitions, we propose the jewel of Central Asia, Issyk-Kul. Its tourism potential is vast: ranging from health improvement in sanatoria to extreme types of mountain tourism,” he said.
“As you know, this autumn we plan to hold an international kurultai of architecture and urban planning of the Turkic world and the nomadic games. They are very important for getting to know each other better, including for exchanging information in the tourism sector. We need to support the creation of joint ventures in the field of information technologies such as the internet, television, communications, and advertising. We certainly support the proposal of the President of Azerbaijan, I. Aliyev, to create an investment fund,” concluded the head of state.
