According to him, synthetic drugs are becoming increasingly widespread, both in the country and globally. In 2025, five laboratories for the production of synthetic substances were discovered, most of which were located in the Chui region. Producers rented houses for the synthesis of new psychoactive substances and also used precursors for their creation. One case was also recorded in Osh. "Synthetic drugs" are indeed present in the republic, and we are actively fighting against them," Usenov noted.
This year, 798 kilograms of synthetic drugs were confiscated, while last year this figure was only 34 kilograms.
Synthetic drugs are coming to Kyrgyzstan from neighboring countries such as Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as through postal shipments from the USA and Europe. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has established close cooperation with the customs service, which allows for thorough checks of all incoming postal shipments and the detection of drugs right at the border," Usenov added.
