Since the beginning of 2025, there has been a significant increase in the prices of fuel and lubricants in Kyrgyzstan. The Deputy Chairman of the National Bank, Azat Kozubekov, shared this information at a press conference held in Bishkek.
According to Kozubekov, since the beginning of the year, gasoline prices have risen by 12.6%, while diesel fuel has become 8.4% more expensive.
He explained that the main reason for this increase is the ongoing repair work at oil refineries in Russia, which is the key supplier of fuel and lubricants for Kyrgyzstan.
Kozubekov also added that the rise in fuel prices has become one of the factors contributing to the acceleration of inflation in the country, alongside the impact of external economic factors and the increase in global prices for energy resources.
