According to data from muksun.fm, gasoline prices in the region are rising at a rate that outpaces inflation. Gas stations are reporting delays in fuel deliveries and restrictions on its dispensing. The stabilization of prices at the end of summer turned out to be only temporary before the upcoming problems, as since the beginning of autumn, motorists in the region have been unable to adapt to the changes in prices at gas stations.
Gasoline Price Increase in KMAO
According to information from "Tyumenstat," over the nine months of the current year, the price of automotive gasoline in the region has increased by 8.1%. The largest increase concerns gasoline of the AI-92 grade, which has risen by 8.6%. AI-95 gasoline has increased in price by 8%, while AI-98 and diesel fuel have risen by 1.7% and 2.7%, respectively.At the same time, the official inflation rate in KMAO for the same period was only 2.6%. Thus, gasoline prices in the region have increased more than three times compared to the level of consumer prices. As of September, the inflation rate in Russia is about 8%, with a forecast for October of 8.2%, and an annual expectation of 6.5-7%.
According to the latest data, from October 14 to 20, there has been a sharp increase in gasoline prices in KMAO:
- AI-92 gasoline has risen by 7.3% to 66.79 rubles (73.7 soms);
- AI-95 has increased by 5.9% to 70.96 rubles (78.3 soms);
- AI-98 has gone up by 0.9% to 84.9 rubles (93.68 soms);
- Diesel fuel, despite the end of harvesting, has risen by 2.8% to 79.39 rubles (87.6 soms).
Factors Contributing to the Fuel Collapse in KMAO
The regional Department of Internal Policy reported a potential fuel shortage at gas stations. As of October 14, no shortages were recorded in 17 municipalities.However, in five other municipalities, delays in deliveries and temporary restrictions on the dispensing of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline were noted.
"As of October 14, 2025, there is a failure to meet obligations by fuel suppliers, which has led to temporary restrictions on the dispensing of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline in Nyagan, as well as delays in deliveries in Urai, the Khanty-Mansi District, and other municipalities of the autonomous okrug," the department explained.
"From January to September 2025, the observed increase in gasoline prices in KMAO corresponds to nationwide trends, and no unjustified price increases have been identified. Price changes are synchronized with neighboring regions, confirming the absence of speculative factors," the regional authorities added.
Meanwhile, local residents amid the fuel crisis are observing significant discrepancies in prices at gas stations, exceeding statistical data by 2 (2.21 soms), 3 (3.31 soms), and even 10 (11.03 soms) rubles.
