According to the results of the first three months of the year, Kyrgyzstan's economic growth amounted to 107%, reports RIA Novosti, citing the country's Ministry of Economy.

“The main outcome for January - March 2015 was the positive trends in economic growth. According to preliminary estimates from the national statistical committee, the economic growth was 107.0%, with GDP amounting to 79.4 billion soms. The GDP deflator was at 108.6% (1 dollar equals 63 soms — ed.),” the agency quotes the ministry's statement.

The average inflation rate for the specified period was 110% compared to the previous year. The increase in consumer prices was caused by rising prices for non-food goods, which is related to the increase in tariffs for electricity, gas, and other types of fuel. In particular, electricity prices for certain categories of consumers increased by 160%. Prices for food products increased by 0.4% compared to last year.

Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover for January - February amounted to 828.2 million, decreasing by 13.4%. Import revenues decreased by approximately 17%, due to a reduction in the import of cars by 2.7 times, pharmaceuticals by 2 times, and electrical machines and equipment by 20%.
