The Deputy Chairman of the NBKR, Melis Attokurov, addressed the press representatives and explained why there was a need to construct a new office complex for the regulator.
The National Bank is now located at: Kalyk Akiev Street, 89. The construction took two years, and the total area of the new building is 22,240 square meters. It consists of ten different blocks and is designed to accommodate 300 employees.
Additionally, the new building features a modern storage facility that can hold up to 1,000 tons of gold. There will also be a library and a numismatic museum located here.
According to Attokurov, the previous building of the NBKR did not meet the international standards adopted for regulators. He noted that the National Bank has its own specific norms regarding construction.
The new building fully complies with both regulatory and international construction standards.
“During the construction process, an engineering and technical survey was conducted: the seismic resistance of the structure is rated at 12 points on the scale,” added the Deputy Chairman of the NBKR.
