During the opening ceremony of the new building of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Deputy Chairman of the NBKR, Melis Attokurov, announced that the storage holds over 55 tons of gold.

Sadyr Japarov, the president of the country, noted in his speech that the new bank building has become the largest storage facility in the country, meeting international standards.

“Previously, the storage conditions were unsatisfactory, and we had to place gold in foreign banks. Now, the National Bank has a modern storage facility capable of holding up to 1000 tons of gold, which allows us not only to securely store our reserves but also to offer precious metal storage services to clients,” the president emphasized.

It is worth noting that in June of this year, the chairman of the NBKR, Melis Turgunbaev, reported at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh that the country's reserves included 52 tons of gold.
