President Sadyr Japarov was shown modern weaponry of the special unit "Alpha" of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).

The head of state participated on October 27 in the opening ceremony of the training center for the "Alpha" unit located in the Jalal-Abad region.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the GKNB, Kamchybek Tashiev, along with the leaders of the training center, presented combat drones to the president.

The president noted that only modern technologies—drones and missiles—will be used in the future.

Kamchybek Tashiev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan must develop in this direction. Afterward, the chairman of the GKNB demonstrated an anti-tank missile system attached to a drone, which can hit armored vehicles from a distance of 200-300 meters.

According to Tashiev, while such systems were previously carried by soldiers, now an unmanned aerial vehicle flies to the combat zone and hits the target.

Then the president was shown another aircraft to which an explosive device is attached, allowing it to strike a target. This is an analog of a kamikaze drone produced in Kyrgyzstan.

As reported by the president's press service, in his speech, the head of state reminded that a specialized counter-terrorism service was established in Kyrgyzstan on October 27, 1992. Since then, the "Alpha" group of the national security agencies has continuously fulfilled its important tasks.

"From August to November 1999, the special forces unit 'Alpha' carried out tasks to eliminate international armed groups that invaded the Batken region, to free hostages, and to ensure the safety of military personnel. The fighters actively participated in the search for and destruction of bandit groups in mountainous areas," said Sadyr Japarov.

He emphasized that the unit has extensive experience in combating international terrorism and organized crime, conducting operations to neutralize extremists, free hostages, and detain leaders of drug syndicates and terrorist organizations.

The head of state informed that at the beginning of 2025, at the initiative of the GKNB leadership, the construction of a training center for the special forces unit began. "To strengthen the personnel potential of the service, modern technologies and the latest technical means are being procured. The Center will also be able to provide training and exercises to enhance the combat readiness of law enforcement agencies and civil defense units in the Jalal-Abad region," he reported.

During the event, the head of state familiarized himself with the conditions created to enhance the combat readiness of the special forces unit and inspected the building of the training center.

The president attended tactical exercises during which the "Alpha" fighters demonstrated their skills in neutralizing simulated terrorists and freeing hostages.

Sadyr Japarov visited the shooting range and participated in a demonstration of practical exercises using FPV drones, noting the high level of training and modern technical equipment of the unit.
