It was revealed that the detainee, known as "P.B.M.", used her official position to systematically obtain money from citizens under the pretext of assisting them in obtaining citizenship of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The detention occurred at the moment she was receiving 21,000 soms through an electronic wallet. Currently, "P.B.M." is in custody at the SCNS detention center.
The SCNS emphasized that foreign citizens can only obtain citizenship of the Kyrgyz Republic by presidential decree on a gratuitous basis, with the exception of state fees provided for by law.
Work is currently ongoing to identify other instances of extortion by the detainee and other involved employees.
