The President participated in the opening ceremony of the Kara-Kul Hydroelectric Power Station, which has a capacity of 18 megawatts and a project cost of 25 million dollars. It is expected that the average annual electricity generation will amount to 104 million kWh, which, according to experts, will help reduce the electricity deficit in the country by 2.5% and improve the reliability of electricity supply for Kara-Kul and the Toktogul cascade of hydroelectric power stations.
The project was implemented by the company "Zhagalmai", and it is planned that 15 years after the operation of the hydroelectric power station, it will be transferred to the state.
Kimsanov noted that in the center of Kara-Kul there is the Energetics Park, covering an area of 17 hectares. “The condition of the park leaves much to be desired. In this area, there are also the Pioneer and Komsomol lakes, where locals and tourists can spend time. We have developed a project that requires 300 million soms. Perhaps it is worth considering allocating funds from the Stabilization Fund or the republican budget,” the speaker added.
In response to the president's question about the area of the park, Kimsanov replied that it is 17 hectares.
The president again noted that the amount of 300 million soms for 17 hectares may raise questions. “Don’t you think that such requests could lead to corruption? The allocated funds are often spent inefficiently. If you are talking about 300 million soms, we need to calculate everything carefully. While flying in a helicopter, I noticed that the stadium requires serious repairs, and the amphitheater also needs updating. But we are ready to support the renovation of the park,” the president emphasized.
