According to the information from the press service of the presidential representative in the region, among the participants of the event were Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Representative of the Head of State Iliiaz Tashbaev, as well as local residents.
This ceremony marks the beginning of the modernization of the Kurshab-Sai irrigation system, aimed at developing agriculture in the region and providing farmers with reliable access to irrigation water.
A total of 1 billion 788 million soms has been allocated for the implementation of the project. The works will cover seven rural districts and the city of Kara-Suu, with a complete overhaul of 42.4 kilometers out of the existing 52.4 kilometers of canals.
Upon completion of the project, more than 13 thousand hectares of land will receive a permanent water supply, leading to increased yields and easing the labor of farmers.
The project is being implemented under the program "Improvement of Water Management Services Resilient to Climate Change" (CRWSP) with the support of the World Bank and funding from the International Development Association (IDA).
