According to the local administration, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev familiarized himself with the work of the laboratory. Among those present were also the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kyrgyzstan, as well as leaders and staff of the Sokuluk District State Administration and the institute.
The updated laboratory, as noted by the administration, is equipped with modern technologies, which will significantly enhance the level of biotechnological research. This institution houses breeding bulls, the biological materials of which are frozen for further storage and use.
According to local authorities, the opening of the laboratory will be a key step in the development of animal husbandry in Kyrgyzstan, as it will focus on determining the genetic origin, breeding characteristics, and productivity of animals, as well as conducting laboratory research on imported genetic material.
The director of the institute, Rakhатbek Ibraev, reported that the farm houses bulls of various breeds, such as Swiss and Simmental. “We take care of them, produce semen, and sell it to farmers. The weight of one bull reaches 700 kilograms. The animals are regularly walked and receive the necessary care,” he added.
Also, in the auxiliary premises of the institute, there are bulls named Agat, Chuvak, Nik, Nabat, Tomsk, and Kord. Their live weight ranges from 800 to 1000 kilograms.
As part of the cooperation with an international organization, a ceremony was held to lay a "time capsule" for a new training center, which is planned to be completed in 2027.
