The decision to postpone the dates made by the cabinet of ministers is related to the necessity of quality data collection.
According to the initial decree, the next agricultural census was supposed to take place in 2025. It should be noted that this event occurs once every ten years and represents a large-scale statistical operation aimed at obtaining reliable information about the state of agriculture in the country.
The collected data will be an important tool for developing effective agricultural policy, ensuring food security, and sustainable development of rural areas, emphasizes the cabinet of ministers.
The census will provide accurate data on the following aspects:
• Structure and number of agricultural enterprises and farms of all forms of ownership;
• Volumes and types of agricultural production;
• Availability of labor, land, and material resources;
• Livestock and poultry numbers;
• Level of mechanization and features of farm management.
Preparation for the census began in 2024, and pilot activities have also been conducted in two districts. The completion of the census is expected to take place in March 2026.
