
The republic is actively developing the cultivation of mandarins, oranges, lemons, and kumquats.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, in recent years there has been an increase in the area under citrus cultivation. In 2023, 3,929 tons were harvested from 801 hectares, and in 2024 this figure rose to 4,839 tons from 1,058 hectares.
Additionally, the Ministry of Agriculture reported a significant increase in the production of livestock products. In the first 9 months of 2025, meat production increased by 103%, milk by 102.7%, and eggs by 106.4%.
"According to food security indicators, the population of the republic is fully provided with 6 out of 9 basic food products. Work on the remaining three types is ongoing," the ministry added.
