The harvest campaign for agricultural crops is coming to an end in Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the highest vegetable yield indicators were recorded in the Chui and Osh regions this season.
As for grains, out of a total area of 679 thousand hectares, 631.7 thousand hectares (93%) were harvested, resulting in a gross yield of 1.775 million tons.
For vegetables, out of the planned 56.6 thousand hectares, 52.2 thousand hectares (96.2%) were harvested, with a total gross yield of 791.4 thousand tons. The leading positions in yield are held by the Chui and Osh regions.
Regarding potatoes, work has been completed on 61.9 thousand hectares (96%) of the planned 64.5 thousand hectares. The gross yield amounted to 874.3 thousand tons, and the average yield reached 176.5 quintals per hectare, which is higher than last year's figure (172.5 q/ha). In the Issyk-Kul region, the harvest level was 95.9%.
As for melons, out of the planned 11.8 thousand hectares, 12.2 thousand hectares (103.8%) were actually harvested. The gross yield was 274 thousand tons, which is 41.5 thousand tons more than in 2024. The main producing region is the Jalal-Abad region.
Work on technical crops continues.
Regarding oilseeds, they have been harvested on 90.3% (11.3 thousand ha);
tobacco — 96.2%, with a gross yield of 1.0 thousand tons;
cotton — 98% (6.3 thousand ha), with a gross yield of 10.0 thousand tons;
sugar beets have been harvested on 53%, with a gross yield of 300.8 thousand tons.
The Ministry also noted that the current pace of the harvest campaign and the yield of major crops have exceeded last year's indicators, indicating an increase in the efficiency of agricultural production and favorable weather conditions this season.
