In order to ensure the quality of statistical data collection, the government has decided to postpone the agricultural census to a new date — from March 20 to April 10, 2026. This was announced in a press release from the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Initially, it was planned that the census would take place from November 1 to November 20, 2025.
It is important to note that the agricultural census is a nationwide event conducted once every ten years, aimed at collecting a complete, objective, and reliable dataset on the state and structure of the country's agriculture. The results of the census will serve as the basis for forming effective agricultural policy, ensuring food security, and sustainable development of rural areas.
The census will help gather information on the following key aspects:
- The structure and number of agricultural enterprises of all forms of ownership;
- Types and volumes of agricultural products produced;
- Availability of land, labor, and material resources;
- Livestock and poultry numbers;
- Features of farming practices and level of mechanization.
