Will shopping centers and cafes save electricity?

Kyrgyzstani residents are anxiously awaiting the cold

The question of whether shopping centers, stores, cafes, clubs, and restaurants will save electricity is actively discussed on social media. This is related to new initiatives from the Bishkek mayor's office and the Ministry of Education aimed at the rational use of electricity.

According to information, after 6:00 PM, it is planned to turn off electrical appliances and lighting in schools. Despite the official statements from local authorities, residents of Bishkek and other regions report the need to disconnect electricity in educational institutions, as has already been done in government agencies (except for facilities that ensure vital activities, healthcare, and law enforcement). The electricity savings also affect higher educational institutions.

“And winter hasn’t even arrived yet,” express the concerns of the city's residents.

It should be noted that by the beginning of the heating season, the water level in the Toktogul reservoir was insufficient. This was reported by the Minister of Energy Talaybek Ibraev. Later, President Sadyr Japarov urged citizens to be careful with electricity.

As part of the electricity-saving measures, the power consumption in homes has been reduced from 5 kW/h to 3 kW/h, mining farms have been disconnected, and lighting and electrical appliances in government institutions have been turned off after 6:00 PM.
