In response to recent statements by Almazbek Atambayev, the former president of Kyrgyzstan, who spoke out against mining and the export of electricity, the country's Minister of Energy Taalaybek Ibraev expressed his opinion, calling such statements "absurd in conditions of shortage." The head of the ministry noted that such remarks from the former president are often irresponsible.
“Atambayev continues to make statements without taking responsibility for his words. He is indeed skilled at this. In conditions of electricity shortage, a decision was made to completely shut down all mining farms in the republic. I personally oversee this issue,” the minister added in an interview with 24.kg.
