
The reconstruction of the fourth hydroaggregate of the Toktogul HPP and the second hydroaggregate of the Uch-Kurgan HPP has been fully completed, and commissioning tests are currently being conducted. The Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Talaybek Ibraev, during his working trip to the Jalal-Abad region, familiarized himself with the modernization process of hydroenergy facilities. The reconstruction of the fourth unit at the Toktogul HPP is 100% complete, which will increase the station's capacity from 1200 to 1440 MW.
As for the Uch-Kurgan HPP, the modernization of the second hydroaggregate has been completed, adding 9 MW to the total capacity. The first unit was upgraded in 2024, and the reconstruction of the remaining two units is scheduled for 2026, which will result in an increase of the station's capacity by 36 MW.
After the completion of the tests, the upgraded units will be officially put into operation. In addition, the minister reviewed the operation of the Kara-Kul HPP, which has a capacity of 18 MW and is currently functioning without any disruptions.
