A new 110/10 kV substation 'Ken-Sai' has been put into operation in Osh.
The opening of the 110/10 kV substation "Ken-Sai" took place in Osh, which will ensure uninterrupted power supply to the residential areas of Ken-Sai, as well as neighboring settlements such as Gulbaar, Kenesh, and Japalak. This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Energy Talaybek Ibraev, the Mayor of Osh Jenishbek Toktorbaev, the General Director of the Open Joint Stock Company "National Electric Networks of Kyrgyzstan" I. Sydygaliev, and local residents.

According to the ministry's information, the construction was completed ahead of schedule. The work was carried out by the Open Joint Stock Company "National Electric Networks of Kyrgyzstan," and the total investment amounted to 18.5 million soms.

This substation will supply electricity to about three thousand households in Osh and nearly seven thousand residents of the Aravan district over an area of more than 1100 hectares.

The launch of "Ken-Sai" will also help relieve the existing 110/6 kV "Uchar" and 35/10 kV "Gulbaar" substations. It will become an important element for the development of the residential area of the same name, covering 1824 hectares, ensuring reliable power supply to social, industrial, and private facilities.

The substation is connected to the 110 kV power line "Uzlovaya - Mangyt" via an overhead line 230 meters long. The facility is equipped with modern equipment, including a 6.3 MVA transformer, gas-insulated switches and disconnectors for 110 kV, 24 cells of 10 kV distribution devices, as well as cabinets for relay protection, automation, and electricity metering.

Specialists from the Osh Electric Networks completed the testing and commissioning of the electrical equipment, after which the substation was deemed fully ready for operation.

Minister of Energy Talaybek Ibraev reminded of his instruction to the Osh Electric Networks to complete the construction by the end of 2025 during a working trip in July of this year. The work was completed ahead of schedule.

The opening of the "Ken-Sai" substation provides new opportunities for the development of Osh's infrastructure, connecting new consumers to the national energy system, and also contributes to strengthening small and medium-sized businesses and improving the quality of life for the region's population.
