According to the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, the new substation "Ken-Sai" will provide reliable electricity supply not only to new residential areas but also to the nearby villages of Gulbaar, Kenesh, and Japalak. This will allow approximately 3000 households in the Osh region, as well as 6877 residents of the Aravan district, covering 1124 hectares of land, to be connected to the power grid.
The commissioning of the new facility will also relieve the existing 110/6 kV substations "Uchar" and 35/10 kV "Gulbaar." The construction of the substation has become part of a program for the development of a residential area covering 1824 hectares and will ensure reliable electricity supply for social, industrial, and private facilities.
The "Ken-Sai" substation was connected to the 110 kV power transmission line "Uzlova-Mangyt" via a 230-meter overhead line. The following equipment has been installed at the facility:
- transformer with a capacity of 6.3 MVA;
- gas-insulated switch and disconnect switch at 110 kV;
- 24 distribution unit cells (KRU) at 10 kV;
- 18 vacuum circuit breakers (of which 5 have already been put into operation);
- in the operational control point, relay protection and automation cabinets, transformer control and protection cabinets, as well as electricity metering and auxiliary supply cabinets have been installed.
Specialists from the Osh Electric Networks conducted the necessary testing and adjustments of the electrical equipment, after which the facility was deemed ready for operation. The length of the 10 kV overhead line was 15.5 km, and the 0.4 kV line was 3.5 km.
During a working trip in July, Minister of Energy Talaybek Ibraev and Mayor of the Osh region Jenishbek Toktorbaev inspected the construction progress of the "Ken-Sai" substation and instructed to complete all work by the end of the year. Today, these plans have been successfully implemented.
