Active work continues at the Uch-Kurgan Hydroelectric Power Station, which plays a key role in the energy sector of Kyrgyzstan, according to information from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic.
The main task of the current project is to increase the reliability and efficiency of the station, as well as to extend its operational lifespan. An important aspect is the implementation of modern automation and control technologies.
Currently, work is actively underway on hydro unit No. 3:
▪ On this unit, the control cabinets are being adjusted, regulation and assembly are ongoing, and oil is being poured into the system. The preparation of the lifting mechanism for conducting "wet" testing is nearing completion.
▪ On hydro unit No. 4, the control system is being replaced, and previously identified defects are being addressed.
▪ Specialists are working on the assembly and flaw detection of the gates for units No. 5 and No. 6, as well as preparing them for installation.
▪ On hydro unit No. 2, welding of the stator base continues, which is an important part of the assembly of electromechanical equipment.
Repair work on hydro unit No. 3 is 98% complete, with plans for full completion by November 2025. After modernization, its capacity will increase to 54 MW, which is 9 MW more than before.
The modernization of the Uch-Kurgan HPP will significantly improve the stability, safety, and economic efficiency of electricity production, contributing to the development of the country's energy infrastructure.
