According to the agency, the highway was built during the Soviet period, and since then it has only undergone temporary patch repairs.
“This year, the construction works on the Kerben—Uch-Korgon HPP road are actively continuing. Previously, asphalt was laid on a section 13.5 km long, and currently, preparatory actions are being carried out for the asphalting of an additional section of 4.5 km.
Currently, in the Uch-Korgon rural district, the process of dismantling the old asphalt is underway. The width of the road is 7 meters. The work is being carried out by the company OsOO "Magistral Kurolysh."
It is planned to complete the asphalt laying from November 15 to 20. Earlier, repair works were also carried out on the most damaged sections of the road, according to the established plan,” the ministry reported.
Zayirbek Kerezbekov, a resident of the Uch-Korgon rural district, noted that the road was in terrible condition before the work began.
He added that local residents had repeatedly appealed to various organizations and even tried to fill the potholes and level the road surface themselves.
The Kerben—Uch-Korgon HPP highway, 67 km long, connects three districts with the regional center.
