In Batken, the cinema has reopened after renovation

$1.5 million allocated for the renovation of six cinemas in the regions by the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund

In Batken, a solemn opening of the renovated cinema "Batken Kino" took place, marking an important step in a large-scale project aimed at enhancing cultural activity in the regions. This initiative, implemented by LLC "Atlant Cinema" with the support of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF), was launched under the direct instruction of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and with the assistance of the Cabinet of Ministers.

As part of this project, the RKDF allocated $1,550,000 for the renovation of six cinemas located in small and medium-sized towns in Kyrgyzstan, including Batken, Cholpon-Ata, Kerben, Aravan, Belovodskoye, and Tokmak.

According to the RKDF, the "Batken Kino" cinema was built in the 1960s-70s and had been out of operation for a long time. The renovation included major repairs and modernization, as well as the installation of modern equipment and new furniture. The opening of the cinema coincided with the celebration of Batken's city day, making this event particularly significant for the local residents.

“With the help of this project, residents of remote settlements will have the opportunity to watch quality films, and domestic content producers will be able to develop their projects and implement new creative ideas. More than 1,800 seats will be opened in cinemas across the country, and over 200 jobs will be created,” emphasized the chairman of the RKDF board, Artem Novikov.
