Representatives of the local administration, veterans, and citizens participated in the event.
According to official data, 54 servicemen lost their lives during these events; however, later an interdepartmental commission revised the figures, increasing them to 78.
According to government decree No. 615 dated December 25, 2018, October 26 was established as the Day of Remembrance for the fallen soldiers in the Batken events and is observed annually.
Concluding the event, participants offered a prayer in memory of the souls of the fallen, honored their memory, and laid wreaths at the monument.
