The solemn closing ceremony of the First World Nomad Games took place at the racetrack in Cholpon-Ata.
The program of events began with a 3-minute laser show, during which a video sequence featuring fragments of competitions in various types of games was launched on huge screens styled to resemble the snow-white peaks of Ala-Too, created by lighting engineers.
A total of 22 national teams and over 430 athletes from 19 countries participated in the tournament. Competitions were held in 10 sports: alysh (belt wrestling), alaman baige (long-distance cross-country horse racing), jorgo salysh (gaited horse racing), kazak kuros, kok boru (goat grabbing), kunan chabysh (three-year-old horse racing), kyrgyz kuros, ordo (Kyrgyz national game in alchiki), toguz korgool (Kyrgyz intellectual board game), er enish (mounted wrestling).
As a result of the Nomad Games, the Kyrgyzstan team leads the official medal standings with a total of 55 medals, including 16 gold, 20 silver, and 19 bronze. The Kazakhstan team is in second place in the overall standings, with 28 medals, including 10 gold, 9 silver, and 9 bronze medals. The Turkmenistan team is in 3rd place with 3 gold and 3 bronze medals. The Tajikistan team is in 4th place with one "gold" and 3 "bronzes." Mongolia is in fifth place with 7 medals, including 1 silver and 6 bronze. Russia won 5 bronze medals.
After the closing ceremony, a festive gala concert took place with a rich show program featuring stars from Azerbaijan - Aslan Guseynov, the USA - Ray Horton, as well as from Turkey, Korea, Kazakhstan, and stars of Kyrgyz pop: Gulnur Satylganova, Jiydesh Idirisova, Gulzady Ryskulova, Yryskeldi Osmonkulov, Max Begaliev, Burash, Mirbek Atabekov, Janetta Bobkova, and others.
