The Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic Honored the Memory of Those Who Fell in the Batken Events

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the Batken events, the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic held a ceremonial event, as reported by the press service of the ministry.

The ceremony began with the laying of wreaths at the monument to the heroes of Batken and continued at the Sh. Termechikov Drama and Satire Theater.

Among those present were: the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, First Deputy Minister of Defense Colonel Tariel Otonbaev, participants of those events, as well as military personnel from the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.

In his address, Colonel Otonbaev noted that this year marks a quarter of a century since the successful completion of the operation to eliminate terrorist groups in Batken and Chon-Alai. He emphasized that the soldiers demonstrated not only courage but also devotion to the Motherland, recalling the 54 servicemen who died in battle.

During the event, words of gratitude were expressed to the participants of the Batken events and their families, honorary certificates were awarded, and financial support was provided to the families of the fallen servicemen.

The celebration concluded with a concert program prepared by creative teams from the Central House of the Army, the Gala Theater, and children's ensembles from the city.
