The Deputy Minister of Social Development, Zhyldyz Polotova, opened a shelter for homeless people in the city of Kyzyl-Kiya. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.
“The Ministry of Social Development is the only state body in Kyrgyzstan that implements the law on the 'State Social Order.' Under this law, funds are allocated from the budget to non-governmental organizations to assist people in difficult life situations. This includes adults and children with disabilities, elderly citizens, children left without parental care, or those in conflict with the law. As part of the state social order, we are opening a shelter for homeless people in the city of Kyzyl-Kiya today,” said Zhyldyz Polotova at the opening.
The opening was also attended by the mayor of the city, A. Khalmurzaev, the chairman of the city council, A. Matmusaev, leaders of local non-governmental organizations, religious figures, and local council deputies.
According to the Ministry of Social Development, the competition for the opening of the shelter for homeless people was won by the public charitable fund "Rema." As part of this competition, seven centers will be opened for homeless people, people with disabilities, children in difficult life situations, and elderly citizens.
