On December 25, the award ceremony for the winners of the '100 Best Deeds for the Beloved Village/City' took place.
The award winners were members of local communities from all regions of Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan needs heroes. Not only from the past. Modern heroes are needed as well. Heroes who can show courage not only in battle or on the political stage, but also those who find the desire, strength, and something else within themselves every day that inspires them to do good. For some, good deeds bring smiles, for others, confusion, and for some, even irritation... But that is what makes our country remarkable: for most of the people living in it, a good deed becomes a reason for joy and pride for the person who performed it. They want to help, and perhaps even do something good for others, for their community, for their beloved Kyrgyzstan.
“Launching the project '100 Best Deeds for the Beloved Village/City', we proceeded from the idea that social ties are strengthened by the 'connecting threads' between generations, groups, and individuals. The good deeds performed by both young and not-so-young people in their communities are those very threads that make our people and country stronger. There are heroes in Kyrgyzstan, and everyone who cares about the future of our Motherland should know about them.”
The award ceremony was organized by the Center for Public Technologies with financial support from the Youth Program of the Soros Foundation "Kyrgyzstan".
