As part of the program for the modernization of hydroelectric facilities, the reconstruction of the second hydro unit of the Uch-Kurgan HPP has been successfully completed. Currently, tests of the new equipment are being conducted at the site.

It should be noted that the reconstruction work on the Uch-Kurgan HPP started in 2024, when the first hydro unit was replaced, which allowed for an increase in the station's capacity by 9 megawatts. Now, with the completion of the modernization of the second hydro unit, another 9 megawatts have been added.

In 2026, the reconstruction of the remaining two hydro units is planned. After the completion of all work, the total capacity of the HPP will increase by 36 megawatts, and after testing, the hydro units of the Toktogul and Uch-Kurgan HPPs will be put into operation.

In addition, Minister Ibraev got acquainted with the operation of the Kara-Kul HPP, which was recently commissioned and has a capacity of 18 megawatts. Currently, the station is operating in normal mode.
