According to information from the publication "VB.kg", citizens of Kyrgyzstan are proposing to transfer the Ministry of Energy under the control of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
This proposal is related to the need for stricter control over the energy sector, especially against the backdrop of increasing electricity consumption during the heating period. In this regard, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Open Joint Stock Company "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" have developed a number of initiatives aimed at optimizing electricity consumption.
It should be noted that before the start of the heating season, Minister of Energy Talaybek Ibraev announced a shortage of water in the Toktogul reservoir.
Subsequently, NESK decided to reduce the allowable power consumption from 5 kW/h to 3 kW/h and proposed a tariff for unlimited consumption, where the cost of one kilowatt is 3.81 soms.
President Sadyr Japarov instructed to develop measures that would ensure fair and equal access for citizens to electricity, as well as to cancel this tariff. Deputy Prime Minister and head of the GKNB Kamchybek Tashiev, during the opening of the RES in Naryn, reported on active work being done to restore the country's energy structure, emphasizing that there should be no power outages for citizens during the winter.
