The initiative was proposed without prior agreements
The Ministry of Energy reported the involvement of several employees of the Open Joint Stock Company "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" in disciplinary actions due to the introduction of the "unlimited" tariff.
As clarified by the ministry, the proposal to use electricity in the autumn-winter period without changing consumption volumes was made without prior agreement. This caused a wide public outcry.
President Sadyr Japarov stated that raising such issues in conditions of electricity shortage is unacceptable and instructed to halt further actions in this direction, as well as to ensure equal access for citizens to electricity. In this regard, the Ministry of Energy sent a letter to the board of directors of the Open Joint Stock Company "NESC" requesting the necessary measures to be taken regarding the company's management, the ministry reported.
Today, the board of directors of NESC decided to hold the following employees accountable:
- General Director of the Open Joint Stock Company "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" I. M. Sydygaliev received a warning;
- Deputy General Director for Commercial Issues Duysho uulu Ularbek was also punished with a warning;
- Head of the Electricity Sales Department I. A. Orozbaev was dismissed from his position.
The ministry emphasized that, considering the electricity deficit and public attention, the Open Joint Stock Company "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" must ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for the population.
