He noted that electricity consumption in the country is growing faster than its production. As an example, Orozbaev cited data from 2015, when consumption was 13.5 billion kWh, while production was 12.9 billion kWh.
According to him, in 2017-2018, more water was flowing into the Toktogul Reservoir than now, and currently, the country is facing a prolonged period of low water levels. "This is an emergency situation, where the water level does not allow us to provide the necessary amount of electricity. We are warning about possible shortages," he added.
