Unlimited electricity tariffs in Kyrgyzstan were introduced three years ago, as reported by NESK, according to Vesti.kg.
“These tariffs were approved by the government according to the resolution dated July 29, 2022. This is not a novelty; such services exist in most developed countries to provide consumers the opportunity to use electricity when they need it,” the company explained.
In order to make the service more accessible, the tariff cost has been reduced over the past few years.
“Currently, more than 4,500 subscribers are using this service. In 2022, the price for 1 kW/hour was 5.04 soms, but it has since been reduced to 3.81 soms per 1 kW/hour,” representatives of NESK added.
It is worth noting that President Sadyr Japarov had previously expressed dissatisfaction with the unlimited tariff. Additionally, to reduce the load on the energy networks during peak hours, the power consumption capacity for consumers was decreased.
