In the Issyk-Kul branch of OJSC "NESC", work on the digital transformation of the electric grid infrastructure is actively ongoing.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, as of the beginning of 2025, 36,272 "smart" meters have been installed.
This initiative is part of a larger project aimed at modernizing the energy sector, which focuses on improving the accounting, control, and distribution of electrical energy. The Ministry of Energy is closely monitoring the progress of infrastructure upgrades.
A total of 55,923 "smart" meters are planned to be installed in the region in 2025.
Currently, the following results have been recorded by districts:
Jeti-Oguz RES — 10,224 pcs.
Balykchy RES — 5,797 pcs.
Ak-Suu RES — 7,399 pcs.
Cholpon-Ata RES — 6,693 pcs.
Ton RES — 6,010 pcs.
Karakol RES — 744 pcs.
The implementation of "smart" meters significantly enhances the transparency, accuracy, and security of electricity accounting in the region, as well as improves the quality of service for consumers.
