As part of the implementation of the project "30+20+10", specialists from the Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan held a field meeting with local farmers. During the discussion, important aspects concerning the development of tobacco farming were raised, such as soil quality, selection of popular tobacco varieties, export opportunities, and the introduction of modern agricultural technologies. Soil samples were collected for further analysis, and farmers shared their problems and suggestions for improving productivity.
According to the ministry's information, tobacco exports in 2024 amounted to:
- 99.2 tons — to Greece;
- 60.3 tons — to Vietnam;
- 477 tons of tobacco waste — to Russia.
- 288 tons of tobacco were sent to Greece;
- 187 tons of waste — to Russia;
- 18 tons — to Kazakhstan.
