The laying of a capsule took place in the Jalal-Abad region at the territory of the fish farming enterprise "Salih and Co." This event marked the start of the implementation of an ambitious investment project to create an industrial fish farming cluster of a full cycle, estimated at 11.8 million US dollars. This information was published by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, attended the event.
The project includes the construction of a fish farming enterprise at the Kurpsay reservoir, a sturgeon farm in the village of Kümüş-Aziz, as well as a fish processing plant with shock freezing lines. Upon completion of the project, it is planned to produce 5,000 tons of trout and 270 tons of sturgeon annually, as well as food caviar.
This project will lay the foundation for a new industry in the Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions and create conditions for the implementation of modern aquaculture technologies and digital monitoring. It will also provide opportunities for training young specialists, particularly through the establishment of a "fish farming school," where they can learn and gain practical experience.
After the project is implemented, more than 40 jobs will be created, significantly improving the socio-economic situation in the region.
