The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan has announced that an agreement has been reached with representatives of Russia regarding the revision of the indicative balance of duty-free supplies of petroleum products for the current year.

According to the information from the ministry, the volume of diesel fuel supplies has been increased in accordance with the country's needs, while other types of petroleum products remain at the previous level.

“The indicative balance for 2026 will be approved based on data from 2025, with the possibility of further adjustments depending on actual consumption in Kyrgyzstan,” the Ministry of Energy commented.

It is worth noting that Kyrgyzstan annually receives about 1.2 million tons of fuel from Russia duty-free, of which approximately 650 thousand tons is gasoline and 550 thousand tons is diesel. However, according to traders, this volume is insufficient due to increasing consumption.

Experts point out that while increasing the quota for diesel may temporarily improve the situation, it does not address the main issue—the need for growth in domestic fuel production and ensuring the country's energy independence.

The Ministry of Energy continues discussions with Russian partners regarding supplies, including aviation kerosene, and is preparing for the next year taking into account changes in consumption.
