As noted by Kasymaliev, the share of e-commerce in retail sales in Kyrgyzstan has reached 13%, while the global equivalent is around 5%. Forecasts for 2028 suggest that the market could exceed $700 million.
In the first half of 2025, approximately 1 million online purchases were registered in the country, amounting to about 1.7 billion soms. This shows an increase of nearly 56% compared to the same period last year.
Furthermore, conditions are actively being created in Kyrgyzstan to improve digital infrastructure. By the beginning of 2025, the total area of modern warehouse facilities of classes A and B reached 108,000 square meters, with about 90% located in the Chui region.
Kasymaliev also reported on the development of an e-commerce park, which will serve as a platform to support entrepreneurs in this field. A special tax regime has been introduced for market participants, which is set at 2% of turnover, exempting them from VAT, income tax, and sales tax.
The head of the Cabinet emphasized that the development of e-commerce is one of the priorities of the government's economic policy. Currently, work is underway on a new program aimed at developing e-commerce until 2030, as well as expanding cross-border trade and facilitating Kyrgyz companies' access to international platforms.
He also noted that e-commerce creates new jobs and contributes to Kyrgyzstan's integration into global supply chains, including the "One Belt, One Road" initiative.
